Happy Birthday to ME! Today I am 3 weeks old! It's pretty humbling to think of all I have been through in those 3 weeks, more than most go through in a life time. Everyone knew I was a tough guy - that's why Daddy picked the name Maximus, and I have certainly proved that!

Today has been a pretty quiet day - Mom & I have done a lot of napping! We are both ready to go home! I have been able to completely finish my last 3 bottles, so hopefully the feeding tube will not be in long. (it will go home with me - but they will put in a 30 day one so mom & dad will not have to change it - just remove it when the time comes!)

The nurse said that they will probably remove my heart monitor today, in preparation of being able to go home tomorrow! I may be released as early as noon (Thursday 2/5/09). I can't wait.

I have had several requests for close up pictures of me - I'm sure lots will be taken tomorrow when I leave the hospital - we will post some then! If you are lucky I may even autograph one for you :0)

  1. John, Michele and Max-
I am so excited to hear that tomomorrow may be your big day. That is GREAT news!! We will be waiting in anticipation of the day we get to meet the mighty Maximus!

  2. Oh, my gosh. Do great minds think alike or what? We just posted within three minutes of each other! I talked to Mom and said I was going to update the blog and she didn't say anyone had talked to you! Oh, well. Sorry folks about the repetition. But, with such good news, it's good to read it twice!

  3. Yay! I am so happy you are getting to go home Max!! You will love being home :) I can't wait to see you! Its going to be here before we know it!

  4. Just a note--I talked to Max's grandma and it sounds like, despite Michele's hopes, Max will not have a 30-day feeding tube. He will have one that needs to be changed every three days. But, it sounds like he is eating so well, he won't need it for long.

  5. Yay Max! It will be so nice for you to be home with your mommy and daddy! Keep up the good work eating! We love the updates, even when they are within minutes of each other. Thanks!

  6. Yeah Max!!! It will be wonderful to have you home. You are a blessing to your Mommy and Daddy. We are loving the updates and can't wait to meet you.

    God Bless,
    Chuck and Cindy Hill

  7. God bless you little Max. So happy you have done your job with everything they asked you to do and now you can go home!!! HOORAY! I know you will enjoy having just mommy and daddy to take care of you and probably will have quite a few visitors that want to see the "Mighty Max." YOu are a very tough guy....I think the name Maximus helped a lot....and maybe lots of prayers by lots of people. SLeep good tonight, eat well and have a safe trip home. I am so happy for all of you and have certainly appreciated reading your blog every day. Aunt Di and Aunt Barb did a terrific job keeping all of us informed and we certainly appreciate their efforts. God bless you as you leave the hospital and go home.....a most wonderful place. Enjoy. Love and Prayers, Jan Ignatoski :)

  8. Wow, such exciting news! You are going to love being home with the two special parents you were blessed with. And of course, they were blessed with you. We just can't wait to see your adorable face in person. We love you all and will continue the prayers. Thanks to all of you that kept us all updated with the blog, it was very nice to be able to be updated. Love to all.
    Love you and yours,
    Mike, Millie, Jeffrey and Shelby

  9. I have to rescind my earlier comment about the feeding tube. Max did go home with a 30-day tube, but Michele still had to show that she could replace it. As well as he's doing, though, I think it will be ready to come out before it will need to be replaced. Go Maximus!
